As a central point for a network of roots, the Tanzzentrale acts as the connecting point for various spaces, as they move in a continuous state of flux and flow and interdependancy.

In botanical language the word rhizom is used to describe a root network, which either grows underground or close to the earth’s surface. Leaf shoots grow upwards. appearing from a horizontal axis of offshoots.

In philosophy, on the other hand, a rhizom is recognised as a hierarchy-free space, in which varying perspectives (of knowledge)  are brought together within an open form of connections.
